Pre-Engineered Stinger FT System
The
high tech polymer tubing ruptures when the temperature in the hazard environment
goes beyond 175° F (79° C) releasing the FM-200® agent directly onto or near the source
of the fire. The specialized tubing has been tested and proved to be very effective
for the small enclosed hard to reach area. The tubing is very durable; combines leak
resistance, flexibility, and precise temperature sensitivity. The tubing responds
quickly to excessive temperature increases in the hazard environment, providing rapid
yet effective fire suppression.
The SEA-FIRE® MARINE Stinger Fire Suppression
System is designed for ease of installation in highly complex marine applications.
It is designed to be installed in areas that are difficult to protect with typical
marine fixed Fire Suppression Systems such as the bow thruster, small generator set
enclosures and wiring harnesses behind the console. The systems are self activating,
require very little maintenance and provide a cost effective solution, these systems
are for ancillary protection and should not be used as an alternative to an approved
pre-engineered fire system.marine applications.
The
direct low-pressure system utilizes the tubing as both the detection device and agent
delivery system. The portion of the tubing nearest the hottest part of the flame
will
rupture forming a mini discharge nozzle. In a fire condition, the agent
is released via the small nozzle, the system continues to discharge the agent until
the entire contents of the cylinder is expended. Operating temperature range
is 32 deg F to 130 deg F.
